My 5 y.o. son loves this. I bought this for his birthday and boy, I wish I hadn't. There is no "off" switch and this thing is super-loud. The buttons are easily pushed. For example, when transporting the bike in the minivan, be aware that other items may come in contact with it. On such an outing, I constantly thought I was being pulled over! I would search and search my mirrors to find nothing, or rather, no one behind me. I was very paranoid until I realized when I got the bike out of the car where the siren was coming from. You will have to take the batteries out to turn it off. It still worked after the bike was left in the rain...repeatedly...much to my chagrin. 5 stars because it is as promised, and my son loves pretending he is "the law". If you live in a small neighborhood, or around easily bothered neighbors, you might not want to buy this thing...unless your intent is to piss them off and invite retaliation...

Kryptonite New York Fahgettaboutit Mini Bicycle U-Lock (3.25 x 6-Inch) Kryptonite New York Fahgettaboutit Mini Bicycle U-Lock (3.25 x 6-Inch)

Reviews

I purchased this lock less than 2 months ago and was impressed by how big and sturdy it was, however within a few weeks the interior had rusted and it became difficult to open and close the lock. It now takes over a minute of jostling and tugging just to get the stupid thing open, and who knows how the rust may have compromised its integrity as an anti-theft device. It's not as though my bike is always sitting out in the rain either - I keep it locked either indoors or under shelter the majority of the time, but I do live in the Pacific Northwest so some water exposure is inevitable. Even so, I would think that for $60 a lock should be able to take the occasional rain shower. The crappy $10 U-lock I got from Walmart for my last bike lasted almost a year without significant rusting, and it never jammed or stuck because of the rust. All in all I am extremely frustrated and disappointed with this purchase. I did my homework and thought that by spending extra to get a high-quality lock I would not need to replace it any time soon - certainly not within the first two months of owning it. I would strongly advise against purchasing this lock, particularly if you ever plan to lock your bike outdoors. **Added** The day after I wrote this review, the flimsy plastic face plate fell off for no particular reason. Truly a well-made product. Other notes: -No mounting brackets, and considering the weight it's not something fun to toss into your pack or put on the handlebars. -Size is great for preventing the use of a jack but it makes it more or less impossible to lock anything other than your bike frame (at least if you have wider tires like I do). I've taken to using this lock for my frame and a chain lock for my wheels when my bike will be parked somewhere for more than a few hours. -Truly built like a tank. There's no way anyone's going to saw through this thing, at least not without drawing a lot of attention to themselves. If it weren't for the problems I mentioned above I would feel quite confident with this lock.

This thing weighs so much that it makes me forget about taking a lock with me some places. It's great for keeping at work in the bike room to lock my bike to. But if you plan on taking this with you places... yeah... Fahgettaboutit is right!

No one's gona break through it, but its kinda small. Also there are no brackets to mount it on your bike, and its no fun to carry a backpack all the time.

this lock is a little on the heavy side, but big on the protection side. i have not come across a u-lock that stands to the level of this one. its big and bulky, looks like it would be more difficult to assault than others out there. Personally I don't mind carrying a little heavier lock, as long as my bike stays where I left it.

i bought this lock after my bike was stolen, as it seemed to be pretty strong to me. and i am totally satisfyied, as my bike is now safe, this lock is really strong and pretty undestructible. but be careful when it gets wet by rain, as the lock mechanism fails very fast. i had to put wd40 to make it work again, as i couldnt open it anymore...

SYLVANIA LED Light does not give enough light for under cabinet use. If left on for 2-3 days it will kill the batteries. I am Very Dissappointed.

Light quality OK, but adhesive back does not have the strength to support the weight of this light. I found it laying on the counter every morning until I supplemented the adhesive with some double-sided tape.

Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid [Blu-ray] Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid [Blu-ray]

Reviews

poor quality -stopped half way through movie - could not advanceButch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (Widescreen Special Edition)

Fantastic...with blu-ray it's like watching the movie for the first time, the exteriors are raised to a new level making this movie more enjoyable, and you can't beat the terrific action, and acting. Highly recommend.

"Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" is more an exercise in style than substance. One can understand why audiences enjoyed it, but the mixed reaction from critics is a more-accurate assessment of the film's quality. Other than being fitfully entertaining, the film has no particular point, other than pointlessly projecting 20th-century attitudes on 19th-century characters. The problem starts with William Goldman's consciously lightweight treatment of the material, followed by George Roy Hill's "Don't take this too seriously" direction. According to the supplemental material, Hill was surprised when preview audiences laughed throughout almost all of the film, so he went back to tone down the film's humor. This is a particularly strange reaction, considering that the film is populated with supporting actors that were or would become known for comic performances: Henry Jones; Kenneth Mars; Ted Cassidy (Lurch in "The Adams Family"); Cloris Leachman. Timothy Scott (who would play Pea-Eye in "Lonesome Dove") is one of the "Hole in the Wall" gang, and in a memorable serious role, Jeff Corey, fresh from his "Star Trek" triumph ("The Cloud Minders"), is a sheriff who warns Butch and Sundance about the disaster that will surely befall them. Of the principals, only Newman stands out. He has the acting energy, the personal drive and fire, that Redford and Ross lack. Redford has always struck me as a vapid actor, and he seems neither to truly find his character, or simply have fun playing the part. And he's too good-looking -- he looks like a model in Western drag. Gabby Hayes and Boris Karloff were much better actors. The transfer is so-so. We are (well, I am) so accustomed to razor-sharp, ultra-detailed HD images that the general softness of the film (which seems intentional) is disappointing. Not surprisingly, the best cinematography is in indoor and night scenes specifically lit for the camera. The sound isn't very good, either, often muddy and thumpy, and there are patches of distortion (most notably in "Raindrops"). Half the score is in stereo, the other half in mono. There are few good moments -- particularly the train explosion from "too much dynamite" -- but for this viewer, "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" is not the breezy romp it was (probably) intended to be.

Arrived in a timely manner and the movie is a good as I remembered as a teenager seeing it the first time in the moive theater!

Don't buy this version for the sound. The original track was monaural and this version has added a poorly done 5.1 track. If you have a surround sound system be sure to select the original track and let your system upgrade it.

Average Rating:

This 1969 film has never lost its popularity or its unusual appeal as a star-driven Western that tinkers with the genre's conventions and comes up with something both terrifically entertaining and--typical of its period--a tad paranoid...

A Pup Named Scooby-Doo: Complete 1st Season A Pup Named Scooby-Doo: Complete 1st Season

Reviews

I bought this for the 7 and 3 year-olds in my house. SCORE! I watched these shows when I was a bit younger and figured it would be an excellent gift for the youngsters. I was so right. I'm actually afraid that we won't be able to watch anything else. The 3 y.o. watches the discs all day (even beating out his obsession with the original series TMNT DVD's), and his big sister watches them when she gets home from 2nd grade. I guess I'll be searching amazon for a good quality DVD player for their rooms.

I'm a big Scooby-Doo fan and, out of all the series based on the character, this has to be my least favorite. It's not that I didn't like it as it was entertaining, it's just the 'babyfication' of the show kinda made it less appealing to me. Most of the time, I'd figure out the mystery long before it ever got started. I imagine it was the producers' intentions to gear this more towards the youger set to get them into Scooby Doo and, in that respect, they achieved what they set out to do. I just didn't care too much for it. However, do I recommend this DVD set to everyone? Quite simply, yes. For what it is, it is a good show. I agree, there are some areas of the DVD transfer that left the animation sketchy. It should be clearer than it is. But, overall, it's definitely worth recommending.

My four year old is Scooby Doo crazy but of all the Scooby DVD's we have, it's the Pup Named Scooby Doo that's the biggest hit. He can watch it by himself as the regular Scooby titles can be slightly scary. The stories are age appropriate and he just loves them. There are "bad guys" that add conflict and there are still mysteries to solve but not scary monsters. The mysteries are stories like who stole Fred's bike. When he wants to watch it he asks, "Can we watch the ones when Scooby Doo was a puppy?". He is glued to it. I highly recommend for your younger Scooby Doo fan.

My soon to be 2 year old boy likes watching this Scooby edition. He fell in love with Scooby on a trip to Universal Studios and though this would be fun. I also purchased the "What's New Scooby" version of Scooby but we have not watched that yet. I think the original version of Scooby is better but this is still fun.

This is a very funny & unique cartoon. Based off the original Scooby Doo, where are you? My son like it very much & watched intensely while I took a nap!!

Dupont Pure Silicone Lubricant 10 oz. Aerosol Dupont Pure Silicone Lubricant 10 oz. Aerosol

Reviews

Good material for applications that need a residual coating, but can foul some items. For lighter and equally effective lubricant try DuPont Multi-Use Lubricant with Teflon Fluoropolymer

I've been using this on my VFR since I bought it with 3k miles on it. I now have around 22k miles on it, and I'm still on the original chain. That mileage isn't outstanding, but considering that I ride year-round, allowing rain to wash away lubricant and fling up filth, it's quite good. I've used two types of automatic chain oilers on my other motorcycles. These apply engine oil to the chain at regular intervals, which is supposed to greatly extend chain life. I've been pleasantly surprised to see that weekly application of this DuPont spray has resulted in the same sort of mileage potential that I get with these clumsier, messier auto-oilers.

First time I have tried this spray and I absolutely love it. It stays on longer than WD-40 and seems to lubricate much better. I highly recommend this as a general purpose lubricant spray.

Pruchased on Amazon for a fraction of what other products sell for. Works perfectly. Thank you Amazon.

Active Tunes Stroll-A-Tune iPod or MP3 Stereo Speaker System for Baby Stroller Active Tunes Stroll-A-Tune iPod or MP3 Stereo Speaker System for Baby Stroller

Reviews

I've had my i-Ride for over 5 years and love it! I ride in the Bicycle Tour of Colorado or the Ride The Rockies every year and this product is great for the long mountain climbs. I've had no problems with it - mounting it on my bike, turning it on or off when I'm riding, or taking it off at the end of a day. It's a lot safer than wearing ear-buds and I get to share the music with other riders during climbs that can last 20 miles. I've had so many positive comments that a couple of years ago, I bought 7 more and gave them avay, with an iPod, to arm cyclists during the first climb of each day. The clip that holds the speakers can be a little tricky, so just be careful when removing them. The quality is good for outdoors with plenty of volume. Batteries will last about 8 hours of continous use, so I take plenty of spares for a week long ride.

I purchase this product a few months ago. When I went to hook it up to the stroller, the clasp immediately broke before it was even half way tightened. Then, when I put the batteries in, the speaker got so hot I could barely touch it, and even burned my fingers trying to get the batteries out! I called Active Tunes and was told they would send a replacement within 2-3 business days. That was 2.5 weeks ago. I have called twice since then and my calls have never been returned. Again, this is not a reflection on this seller, just the parent company Active Tunes. Awful, awful customer service!! So disappointed. I really wanted to enjoy this product. Now I just want my money back...if anyone would return my calls. Buyer beware!!!!

I ride almost every day on trails or roads where there are people, cars, or other bikers - and I wanted some way to listen to music without having to wear headphone so I could hear what was going on around me, and not get a ticket either. I thought the i-Ride Active Tunes Bicycle Stereo System would be the answer - I was totally wrong. The speakers are decent, obviously cheap, but I am not looking for audiophile quality, just something to hear music, radio or audiobooks on my bike rides. The problem is the plastic base that holds the speakers to the handlebars. It is the black piece that is directly under the speakers in the photo. The mount is flexible plastic and only about 1/16 inch thick. What happened with me is I followed the instructions - first, to stick these rubber pads on the handlebars where you want to mount the speakers so that the mount does not move around (it still does a little bit), then screwed the mount together around the handlebars (instructions warn you not to screw it too tight, which I did not). Then you "snap" the speaker fixture into this cheap plastic base and secure it with a special rubber band and you are off. The speakers performed reasonable well, and I got a lot of smiles as I rode by with tinny music playing. After the bike ride to remove the speaker you have to pull back a plastic piece that releases the speaker, and the force you need is too much for the whole thin cheap plastic mount. Mine broke the first time I removed it. At this point I like the speakers so I am going to end up making my own replacement mount, but this product should never have made it to market. They either did not test it, because any use of it I can imagine would break just like I did - or - they went ahead and sold it hoping to make back their money on a shoddy product that they know will break right out of the gate. They already have a new product out that costs much more and hangs in a bag from your handlebars. Shame on i-Ride for taking what should be a great idea and going through all the trouble of designing and manufacturing this thing and selling a poor product that does not work. With a minor design change or using some thicker plastic, and a more robust mounting system it would have been fine ... maybe putting the rubber pads inside the mounting system so you have some flexibility where to fasten it to your handlebars in case you need to move it at some point. The speakers are passable, the mount is a total rip-off and whoever designed it should be forced to make personal restitution to those of us who bought this thing, or give us the new version for free in my opinion because releasing this to market was deliberate. I was hoping to be able to write a glowing review about a company that saw a small market niche and creatively rushed to fill it. Too bad!

I use this all the time with my jogging stroller and love it. I don't use the attaching device, I just lay it under the sunscreen on top of the canopy b/c my stroller doesn't have space to mount the bracket. The battery life is great, the sound quality is as good as you'd expect, and I recommend this for the person who wants music without wearing headphones.

I have had this product for a year and a half and it works just fine on my jogging stroller. I have had no problems attaching it to the handlebars. I get to enjoy my music (or play some for the kids) while still being aware of my surroundings. The only downside is there is no volume control on the speakers - volume must be adjusted on the mp3 player. Other than that, its great.

Saris Hatch Huggers for Saris Trunk Mount Racks Saris Hatch Huggers for Saris Trunk Mount Racks

Aim was to transport my bike 15 miles to the trail using Lexus RX330 or Mitsubishi Eclipse. A hitch and bike holder was an expensive option, while a roof rack was difficult for me to load the bike and not practical. Out of all bike trunk racks that I was able to review, only Saris Bones 805 2-Bike Trunk Mount Rack would fit my SUV and Eclipse using Hatch Huggers. Plus it's elegant design and recycled material. Delivery was prompt as usual from Amazon.com. Installed product in 15 minutes alone after reviewing the product video on web site as suggested by reviewer. The rack and Hatch Huggers proved to be sturdy and stable. I am very happy with the outcome and highly recommend it.

Thule 958 Parkway 2-Bike Hitch Mount Rack (2-Inch Receiver) Thule 958 Parkway 2-Bike Hitch Mount Rack (2-Inch Receiver)

Reviews

This is a very solidly built Hitch Mount bike rack. It does exactly what it claims (holds 2 bikes) and it does it well. I know that I will have this mount longer than I have my current vehicle. I would definitely recommend this product and would buy it again.

This bike rack is very solid, and heavy. The down side is that the tilt down away from the car is a pin instead of a push button like other models. THis is not a huge problem, but the fold down section on top that holds the bikes requires a bolt, and hence a wrench. This was the most disappointing part of the rack. Will have to see if I can find a pin to fit this.

The rack arrived within a week of ordering. Assembly took less than 5 minutes and was simple to do. Rack fits 2" receiver perfectly. A bolt is screwed into one of the receiver holes to fasten the rack. Finger tight would probably do but I take a 3/4" wrench to snug it up. It comes with a strap that keeps the bikes firmly fastened to the rack. Rubber hold-downs work well and can be adjusted to fit most bikes. Rack is lightweight and easy to insert into receiver as well as remove. Although rack can be lowered via a hinge to allow hatchbacks to open, you are advised to not do it with bikes attached. All-in-all, a rugged, lightweight, simple rack that gives you confidence that your bikes will arrive when you do without damage.

The "bolt in" hitch is a bit more inconvenient than a pin. If you want to lock it, you must order a special locking bolt. Bolt-in provides a little more stability, however. I keep a ratchet wrench in my truck now. The rubber or neoprene fasteners slide inward on the support bars for the outside mounted bike during transport. Although it has happened with each use, it has not caused a problem, yet. Its okay, it gets the job done.

This bike rack worked perfectly for us. My husband loves his bike and put a lot of extras into it. I was surprised that he approved of this rack and had no complaints. We have taken our 2 bikes on it several times for approximately 150 miles each time. We priced around as well and the value was very good.
