After using the Schwinn patches for years, I just assumed that tube patches were clumsy, came off easily, and worked about 30% of the time. These patches are a dream come true. They are relatively easy to use (a bit difficult to peel from the patch protector), very easy to apply to the tire, and stick tenaciously to the tube. I don't have to worry about leaks. In fact, I ordered the 100 lot on the assumption that it would work like the patches I was used to, but I actually have to use far fewer of the patches than I anticipated, due to their effectiveness.

As an avid cyclist, this thing comes in handy a lot. Makes repairs quick and easy and has definitely more than paid for itself with the time and money I've saved. Your results may vary on the repairs, but you'll most certainly end up with something to last you until you can get where you're going and they might just last a little longer. Have had some patched tubes last me longer than the tires themselves. Never had a problem with anything drying out but I probably go through these more quickly than most.

Everything seems to be as expected, and they do the trick. The tire tools are probably just as good as the next one. For those that don't know (it wasn't totally obvious to me), you use the wide end to pry out the tire, and then you can use the hook to hook onto the spoke, to hold it in place. I use one hooked in place to get the tire started, then another to go all around. The pre-glued patches look very convenient, if they work. I haven't tried them yet, but glue drying out is a problem for me with other kits.

Very nice heay duty tool to help you change bike tires with out pinching the tubes as like in the old days with screw drives etc.Saves both time and your energy. I rate this product very high. Shipped to my door very fast also. Thank you

The carrying case lid isn't attached to the case part, so I'm afraid it might go missing someday. I got this as a gift for my boyfriend. He loves it. Definitely all the tools that you will ever need are there, however, it didn't come with any instructions or paper that gives you a clue about which tool is used for what (maybe that's my own problem lol). Also the tools don't lock in place, so it can be difficult to use if something is really stuck.

I got this bike tool for a friend of mine who is really into cycling. He loved it! Definitely impressed with the quality and the perfect size to take out on a ride.

With this tool, a spare tube, and tire levels, I have everything I need to handle most repairs on the road, I have most everything I need for most repairs while on the road. I previously had a Ritchey compact tool that was a bit undersized and a Topeak mini tool that included a patch kit but was too small to be of any use when a repair was necessary. This Crank Bothers tool is just the right size and appears to have the necessary strength to make difficult adjustments. I just finished tightening up my crankset with it. With the previous multi tools, I would always have to use an allen from the toolbox to tighten up the crankset as necessary. But this tool did a fine job. It appears to have the same quality found in other Crank Brothers products.

Well.. to be honest, I thankfully haven't even needed to use this tool on trail yet. However, I have made some minor tweeks with it to friends bikes, as well as my own when not in my shop. Thus far, it seems to be solid. I like the slim overall profile of it. the case is nice, but probably not really needed. The sides of the tool have some nice burling to them, providing a bit better grip when your hands are slippery from sweat/mud etc. The tool selection appears to be good as well - providing the needed wrenches, etc. Overall, I'm a pretty big fan of Crank Bros products, as I've found them to be reliable. Time will tell how this tool holds up, but so far so good. Good price, and I'd recommend.

The multi tool 17 is the better of the multi tools. I use it at home and if needed on the road. I just can't say enough good things about this tool. I would not ride very far without it. Get a folding plier and a short lenght of wire and you are ready for almost anyghing.

but wish it has a tire change tool included. It is small for all it has in it.

I enjoy doing my own bicycle repair, but my tool collection is woefully imcomplete. The Crank Brothers M-17 multi-tool goes a long way towards fixing that. It has a full set of hex wrenches (allen keys) for doing brake, threadless headset, derailler, fender, and some crank adjustments. It also has a genious integrated chain tool/spoke wrench for breaking/setting links and truing wheels. One issue with the chain tool: it is quite difficult to use with the newer beaded-pin Shimano chains as there is nothing on the tool to brace your non-turning hand. Not impossible, but difficult. This is true of almost all chain tools that come with multi-tools. If you're going to do frequent chain repairs, consider getting a dedicated shop-grade chain tool. True to Crank Brothers' form, the tool is very well designed and very attractively finished. It's solid steel - not for gram counters, but perfect for recreational and touring cyclists. The 19-tool variety only adds an extra size of philips and flat screwdrivers. The only improvement I would make is to lock the fold-out tools at a 270 degree angle so you would get right-angle locked, 180 degree unlocked, and 90 degree unlocked. However, in real world applications, it's not a big deal.

Probably the most complete, compact, quality, sleek multi-tool out there. Chain tool works great. Comes with a thick blue rubber band to keep tools in place and add grip.

Crank Bros 17 multi-tool, and probably most like it, folds unexpectedly. The tools do not lock at all in any position. When you apply downward pressure, the offset of the tool from the handle causes the tool to collapse back to the handle.
