Schwinn 17-Function Bike ComputerReviewsFor a whopping $10, this is bar-none, the best computer out there. Heck, it even has temp, and backlighting you can see. Best of all, it actually works, and works well. Only thing I would do, is make one in black. Schwinn would then put alot of the other lower end computer companies out of business. Don't be put off by the price. It's accurate, reliable and durable. I've had two of the 12-function Schwinn computers for around a year, needed another and this one was a few dollars cheaper ($10). It's almost the same except that the 17-function has temperature, and a couple of other features you probably won't use. They all still work. As with any of these, the key is to set the tire size correctly and learn how to work the buttons. I simply use the left one to toggle the trip time and distance displays, and to reset the trip, and seldom need to fidget with anything else. I encountered two issues with this speedometer. First, the battery could not set itself correctly. I had to constantly remove the back cover and "jiggle" the battery to get things working. The second complaint is that the sensor would not pick up the signal from the magnet unless it was sufficently close (1/16 of an inch). For all practical purposes, I couldn't use this speedometer. I subsequently bought a different speedometer for $25 and got everything working in 5 minutes. The sensor did not have any issues picking up the signal from the magnet at the typical distance between the fork and spoke. The cheap price was not worth the aggravation. It is a great tool to have. It is awesome that so many functions in a little computer can be bought for such a ridiculous price. I'm very happy so far with it althought I bought it very recently, therefore reliability and durability are yet to be seen. Again, for the price paid I cannot demand much more. You simply can't beat this bike computer for the price. I was looking at computers in the $200 range, and then decided it couldn't hurt to try this cheapie and see if it works. (Worst case: I'm only out a few bucks, and end up spending $200 anyway in a month or two.) However, after the install, it has worked well. Without a doubt, it's worth the price... and it makes me wonder what the profit margin is on those other deluxe brands! It's not terribly intuitive, is difficult to work on the road -- I just keep the scan mode on and hope my eye catches the data I'm looking for -- and has limited display options. Nevertheless, it works. And it's crazy inexpensive. If/when this one fails, I would buy a new one. Average Rating:![]() |

Schwinn 13-Function Wireless Bike Computer (Colors May Vary)ReviewsI purchased two of these computers, one for me, and one to give as a gift. Both units malfunction in several ways. Save your money and time and do not purchase this product. This unit is worthless if you ride at night due to interference from your bike light. If you put your light on flashing it will make the computer indicate 70 mph, if you use the light on steady beam it will indicate a much slower speed. Both I and the person I gave the other computer to have tried in vain to mount the computers and lights in different configurations as to not have interference and we are both mechanics. We have since discovered that anything electronic will interfere with the function of the computer, such things as stop light signals, laptops, and radios. I would go into the other shortcomings of this bike computer but I have already wasted enough time on this unit. Stay away from it. I have had the Schwinn Wireless bike computer for a month and am very pleased with it. The installation and calibration instructions and execution were reasonably straight-forward. The computer itself has the usual features, including time, total miles, trip miles, trip time, maximum speed and average speed, with a large readout for miles/km/hr. It also has an unusual feature: it can be set to "scan" whereby elapsed time, trip distance, average speed and maximum speed rotate automatically in 3-4 second intervals. This means you don't have to touch the computer on most rides to get up-to-date info on these four key functions, which to me is both a convenience and a safety benefit. In Tucson at least, there seems to be no interference from traffic signals, a problem I have had with some computers in the past. This item works exactly as described. Makes riding much more interesting by knowing how fast, how far, and how long you have been riding. Would definately buy again! Love the Bike Computer...great price. Only draw back was the receiver cover did not easily come of (could have been a defect) Had to pry it off- not easy twist off to insert the battery. Great tool- works perfectly. This computer is very functional, very small size, and price really good. Wireless works very well. Average Rating:![]() |

26-27", SpeedometerReviewsI bought this product and was unable to attach this to my bike. There is not enough room for the gray piece to go between the axle nut and the fork. The old bikes from the 50's and 60's had two nuts on each side of the forks. First you removed the outer nut and when you would loosen the last nut on the outside of the fork, the fork would flex out wider. This design gave you plenty of space between the fork and the axle. The bikes that are made today do not have a locking nut on the axle and the forks do not flex. So this speedometer will not work on the bikes that are made today. This company should tell people that this product only works on the older style bikes. I am going to try to modify the hole on the gray piece by making it bigger and allowing the gray piece to fit closer to the spokes. Right now the gray piece fits so tight between the fork and the axle and there is no exposed threads left on the axle to put the nut on. Someone needs to design a speedometer for a bike that is mounted to the front fork and touches the side of the tire for the calibrated speed. Hmm, that gives me an idea!!!!! purchased this product hoping it would be of good quality, but was disappointed, odometer hit 10 miles then flipped over to 110 miles, reset a few times, and same thing happened, also needle jumps all over the place, mounted on a motorbike speed would range from 25 mph to 32 mph when bike was running steady. would not recommend for MB might work ok on a kids bike, but gear at wheel is of poor quality plastic, could not possibly last to long.F.Y.I. joe Looks great on my motorized bike. I read about some people having trouble with this speedometer and motorized bikes but I've kept it greased and so far so good after a month. Not sure of the speedometer's accuracy but the odometer seems pretty good. I've had this speedometer for about half a year before the cable snapped. I had ridden for 338 miles, according to the odometer. But while it worked it was a fun little thing to have on your bike. It's a bit too large to be tasteful, but it proved to be fairly accurate (calibrated with GPS to +/- 1-2 mph). The design in general isn't the best - it was very difficult to insert the not-very-thin wheel attachment part of the speedometer on my wheel, and because of my bike design, I couldn't find a suitable place to mount the speedometer in the center area of my handlebars so had to mount it on the side (the clamp doesn't open up very far). The odometer isn't the most accurate, and sometimes the needle bounces erratically. HOWEVER, it was still a fun little toy to have on my bike, while it functioned. And I bought it while it was on sale, so only paid $12 or so. I probably would not buy this speedometer again if I had the chance. I wanted something retro that worked, but I guess digital is how I'm going to have to shoot for. This is an good speedometer; very accurate and low cost!. The digital, very expensive speedometer/odom. we own has never worked right! This unit comes with no instructions! But read the other buyer reviews; a nice guy included them for you.
